Denmark

 I have no idea why, but there are more readers of this blog in Denmark than in America or Argentina, which is cool because this leads to me searching and investigating about this country, and finding this beautiful pictures and learning about it. I had no idea where Denmark was until now, and I decided to add it to the list of places where I wanna go because of the admirable organization of the country, their healthy lifestyle, their beautiful European architecture and art, and of course, their delicious dishes.

Facts about Denmark:
  • It has the oldest monarchy in Europe.
  • The national flag is the oldest country flag in the world still in use, and it is called Dannebrog.
  • Denmark was the first European country to abolish slavery on moral grounds.  
  • Denmark (just like Norway) is consider the home of the vikings.
  • It's a christian (protestant) country, and their church is called Folkekirke. 
  •  Their constitution day is called Grundlovsdag and is celebrated on June 5th, which is also the flag day, so it's a day of celebration for the country, with cultural dances and foods. 
  • Greenland (in case you don't know, is the largest island in the world, the one next to Canada) belongs to Denmark.
  • Sweden and Norway are consider "brother countries" because of the similar culture.
  • The country played a big part in the Bronze Era around 1300 years AC.
  • It's known as a country with amazing bridged to connect the different islands of the country, and to stay connected with another countries, one of them is The Great Belt Bridge, which is as long and the height of the Eiffel Tower.
  • Is the fourth most innovate country is the world.
  • Cycling is part of the danish lifestyle.
  • They also play soccer, but the team of Greenland cannot join the FIFA because there's no grass.
  • The most popular last names are Jensen, Nielsen, Hansen, Pedersen, Anderse, etc.
  • Legos is a danish company
  • Fur is one of the most important exportation,
  • One of the most famous dishes in Denmark is called Smørrebrød.

  2. Yeah, first country to abolish slavery but also the first country to institute eugenics and they hate tomboys who prefer guy friends.
